Do you have Fibromyalgia? Are you experiencing chronic pain?

The AZ Health and Aging Lab is actively recruiting individuals who have a confirmed diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, a chronic pain condition, or who exhibit the symptoms of the disorder.

As part of the GIFT project—a 5-year study funded by the National Institutes of Health—researchers seek to investigate how people deal with the chronic pain of Fibromyalgia, as well as how the mental stresses of Fibromyalgia affect individuals’ daily lives, including physical and mental health.

Participants meeting screening criteria are interviewed in person by a nurse, complete a series of questionnaires and interviews, and keep diaries of daily experiences. In addition, eligible participants take part in a series of group meetings, during which various techniques for coping with chronic pain will be introduced and discussed. This study does not involve drugs or experimental medications. Participation in this study can cover up to 18 months, which includes a follow-up questionnaire. Males and females who are 18 years of age or older with Fibromyalgia symptoms are eligible. There is financial compensation for all eligible participants.
