Social Cognition Lab - Research Assistants
Undergraduate Research Assistants
Are you an undergraduate student interested in research experience?
Undergraduate Research assistants play a crucial role in the success of our projects. The Social Cognition Lab has several openings for undergraduate research assistants for credit. Currently there are opportunities to be involved in various research projects in the lab including projects exploring the above ideas and projects utilizing sophisticated technology. Undergraduate Research Assistants are typically involved in:
o Participant recruitment and scheduling
o Running experiments
o Lab meetings and research discussions
o Data entry and management
o Assisting in data analysis
Students who have worked in our lab in recent years have gone on to top graduate programs in social and evolutionary psychology (e.g., UC Santa Barbara and University of New Mexico). Our top undergraduate students have conducted their honors' theses on related projects and been included on publications in Journal of Personality & Social Psychology.
Qualifications:
Enthusiasm and reliability are the most important qualifications. It is best if undergraduate RA's have taken Research Methods. Beyond this, any other special skills that are required can be taught to you when needed.
Benefits of the RA experience
- Acquire a better understanding of what grad school is like and whether or not it is right for you.
- Obtain a letter of recommendation for your graduate school applications.
- Get course credit for in Psy399 or Psy499.
Please contact Becca Neel at rebecca.neel@asu.edu for more information on becoming an undergraduate research assistant.
