Collaborators

Current collaborations

Dr. Ranu Jung, ASU Biodesign Research Institute: Dr. Jung is collaborating with our laboratory to examine neuronal activation by cocaine priming using small animal fMRI imaging.

Dr. Ronald Hammer, The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix: Dr. Hammer is collaborating with our laboratory to investigate neural plasticity associated with extinction of cocaine-seeking behavior.

Past collaborations

Dr. Aloke Dutta, Wayne State University: Dr. Dutta developed novel compounds with improved selectivity for dopamine D3 receptors and invited our laboratory to investigate behavioral effects of the lead compound (see Dutta, A.K., Neisewander, J.L., Fuchs, R.A., and Reith, M.E.A. Synthesis and characterization of novel derivatives of 2-aminotetralins: Development of highly selective derivatives for the D3 receptor. Medicinal Chemistry Research, 10, 208-229, 2000).

Dr. Jeffrey Joyce, The Sun Health Research Institute: The Joyce laboratory has been collaborating with us to investigate changes in immediate early gene expression in the neural circuitry activated following exposure to cocaine priming and cocaine-associated environmental stimuli.

Dr. Richard Harlan, Tulane University: Dr. Harlan has been generously providing advice to our laboratory on improving and expanding our immunocytochemistry methods (see Zavala, A.R., Biswas, S., Harlan, R.E., and Neisewander, J.L., Fos and glutamate AMPA receptor subunit coexpression associated with cue-elicited cocaine-seeking behavior in abstinent rats, Neuroscience, 145, 438-432, 2007).
