If you plan on submitting a proposal, please fill out this information form and send it to your assigned Research Advancement Staff.

Basic starting process and lead time needed to sucessfully submit a proposal
Budgeting
Creating a budget for your project can sometimes be as difficult as writing the science! Schedule an appointment to meet with your Research Advancement Staff so she can aid you in this process. Before your meeting, create a list of items you will need for your project. A budget cheat sheet that includes commonly used items, as well as some that are often forgotten is available for reference.

NIH Specific Information
NIH PHS 398 forms (including Biosketch Template)
- modular vs detailed budget
Lead time/start date (from time of submission)
NIH reccommends using a tentative start date no earlier than 9 calendar months from the date of submission of your proposal.
Requesting an eRA Commons ID

NSF Specific Information
NSF limits PI's to 2 months salary maximum (total on all active NSF grants combined), unless approved by program director.
