How do we conduct our research?

We have a set of experimental chambers for pigeons

and another one for rats.

Animals spend an hour or two each day in the chambers.

They are exposed to various stimuli, including sucrose rewards (right of picture above), tones, lights, and response levers.

We record various activities in real time, save them in a computer, and use them to draw inferences on the animal's motivation, memory, learning, attention, timing, and impulsivity.
