2012-2013 SCHOLARSHIP / AWARDS
Scholarship and award applications are now being accepted. You may download the scholarship application form below. By completing and submitting this form, you automatically apply for all Psychology scholarships and awards. Please complete the application and submit it to the Department of Psychology by the application deadline, Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10 A.M.

Note: The majority of these scholarships/awards apply to students who are returning for the 2012-2013 school year. 

Dean’s Circle Psychology Department Scholarship ($1000)  
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences annually awards $1000 Dean’s Circle scholarships to the college’s best and brightest undergraduate students. This scholarship is for full-time Psychology majors with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA who will be enrolled full-time at ASU in 2012-2013.  

Note: Receiving this scholarship may affect the recipient’s financial aid. 

Phil Mickelson Award for Excellence in Psychology ($500) 
This award was established by Phil Mickelson, who was an ASU Psychology major (BA, 1992) and an outstanding student-athlete, and is currently a top PGA player. The award was endowed in honor of the former Dean Gary Krahenbuhl. This award is based on current achievement, and is for Psychology majors who will be enrolled at ASU in 2012-2013.   

The Dariel Truter Overby Memorial Scholarship (approx. $500)  
This scholarship is made to an outstanding student in memory of Dariel “Rusty” Overby. The guidelines are flexible, with consideration given to academic record and financial need, with a preference given to returning students. This award is for Psychology majors who will be enrolled at ASU in 2012-2013. 

The Zita M. Johnson Child Study Scholarship ($1000)
This scholarship is awarded annually to a Psychology major pursuing studies leading to a career serving young children and their families. The $1000 award is intended to support the academic progress of a student who has demonstrated an interest in child psychology, early intervention, child care, family counseling, social services for children and families, applied child development research, or social policy. The candidate must demonstrate a potential for academic success and a clear commitment to child and family issues. This award is for Psychology majors who will be enrolled at ASU in 2012-2013. 

John W. Reich Prize in Applied Social Psychology (Dollar amount varies)
This award is made to the Psychology major (at any level) whose research activity best exemplifies the approach to research associated with Professor Reich— the testing of theories in non-laboratory settings and the analysis of significant social problems with scientific techniques. Recipients need to be a declared Psychology major, with a minimum GPA of 3.3 (both cumulative and psychology). 

Ernest Lindholm Award for Outstanding Senior in Biopsychology (Dollar amount varies)
This award is made to the Psychology major (at any level) whose research activity best represents the field of biopsychology.  Recipients need to have a minimum GPA of 3.3 (both cumulative and psychology).
