Level up your major with an understanding of neuroscience. By choosing from a wide range of courses covering different areas of brain function, including cognition, emotion, social relations and stress, you can gain a greater appreciation of how our brains work.

Program Description

The minor program in neuroscience offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the brain and nervous system, combining the fields of biology and psychology. Students can take courses in behavioral neuroscience, cellular and molecular neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience and systems neuroscience.

Current ASU undergraduate students may pursue a minor and have it recognized on their ASU transcript at graduation. Minor requirements appear on the degree audit once the minor is added. Certain major and minor combinations may be deemed inappropriate by the college or department of either the major program or the minor. Courses taken for the minor may not count toward both the major and minor.

Minor programs allow students to develop additional competencies that complement the marketable knowledge and skills they acquire in their majors. A minor program in neuroscience supports students who are interested in pursuing careers in research, health care, biotechnology and more.
