Dr. Mae holds a PhD in Social Psychology (with additional emphasis in Personality Psychology) from Purdue University. She currently teaches the following courses at ASU: Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, Personality Theories and Research, Consumer Psychology, Stereotyping, Prejudice & Discrimination, and Media Madness: Psychological Disorders as Represented in Film and Literature. Besides teaching, Dr. Mae is also Director of Multimedia Design for the Psychology Department and does trial consulting (focus groups and mock trials on cases scheduled for court) in the community.  She specializes in the creation of multimedia presentations for the classroom and courtroom.

Research Interests

Teaching of psychology (multi-media presentation, arts & cultural integration, humor and engagement as pedagogical tools), biases in impression formation, incidental versus intentional impressions, impressional effects of pernicious social communication (e.g., gossip, prejudiced speech).
