Adolescent Substance Use, Health, and Behavior Lab (Meier)

Research Area:
Clinical Psychology

This lab conducts research on the physical and mental health consequences of adolescent substance abuse. A key goal of this research is to discover whether adolescents are particularly vulnerable to the effects of substance use on physical and mental health. Up and coming projects include study of (a) the effects of adolescent substance use on brain health (e.g., IQ and cerebrovascular function), (b) biological mechanisms linking adolescent cannabis use, poor neuropsychological functioning, and psychosis, and (c) the effects of cannabis policy changes on adolescent cannabis use and psychosocial functioning.
