The Psychology Graduate Student Association (PGSA) at Arizona State University is a student-led organization that fosters connection, collaboration and community among psychology graduate students. Established in 2021, PGSA also promotes inclusive excellence, shares psychological knowledge with the public and provides professional development opportunities for its members.
Mission and goals
PGSA builds a strong, connected community of psychology graduate students while advancing scientific knowledge and student growth. Key areas of focus include:
- Building connections: PGSA fosters collaboration through social events and activities, including welcome back gatherings, group hikes, Halloween movie nights, pool parties and volunteer initiatives.
- Creating a supportive environment: The association provides a welcoming space for students to connect and support one another through events like coffee and donuts meetups, open officer meetings and fundraisers.
- Advocating for students: PGSA serves as a liaison between graduate students and the Department of Psychology, meeting with department leadership to address student needs.
- Professional development: PGSA helps students grow academically and professionally through mentorship programs, workshops and goal-setting sessions, including CV workshops and semester planning events.
